ADRIAN P SMITH

After graduating as a Theatre Designer in 1980, Adrian worked in theatre, both as a scenic artist and as a designer.

In 1984-1985 he worked with Sir Alan Ayckbourn at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, designing many new works by Ayckbourn including the World premiere of “Woman in Mind”. In 1986 Adrian joined Spectrum Communications as Head of Design, designing a multitude of sets for live events, ranging from large scale auditorium staging and seating to small touring sets.

In 1987 Adrian formed The Design Stage , and since then has built a reputation as one of the top designers working within the live event industry. Specialist expertise and experience includes; fashion shows; product launches; corporate and film premiere parties; touring shows; Award shows and Brand Experiences.

Adrian is particularly noted for close attention to detail and the ability to understand the inherent problems in live production. He is able to deal with clients at all levels, and most important of all, can work within an agreed budget. He works world-wide, with projects as far apart as the USA and Indonesia, Paris and Australia and has worked extensively in Europe. He is familiar with most major venues.

Adrian is now Resident in Barcelona where he has recently designed the tours for top Spanish artists David Bisbal, Alejandro Sanz.and Miguel Bose.
